Maybe this is really locale related problem.

Running with locale 

LANG=ru_RU.UTF-8
LC_CTYPE="ru_RU.UTF-8"
LC_COLLATE="ru_RU.UTF-8"
LC_TIME="ru_RU.UTF-8"
LC_NUMERIC="ru_RU.UTF-8"
LC_MONETARY="ru_RU.UTF-8"
LC_MESSAGES="ru_RU.UTF-8"
LC_ALL=

I have the problem too.

export LC_ALL=C
rm -rf .cache/qtshadercache/
rm -rf .cache/mesa_shader_cache/

And the text appears...

But if I change only LC_NUMERIC to "C" the problem does not disappear.

I am still using QSG_DISTANCEFIELD_ANTIALIASING=gray in /etc/xprofile to fix
the problem.
