Hi!
Can you provide some more information about your system?  What version and
architecture of FreeBSD are you using, what's your graphics card model?

If you are on FreeBSD 11.2 or later on amd64, can you please try to install
graphics/drm-kmod, follow the instructions to load the kernel module, and then
try again?

If that fails, can you try x11-drivers/xf86-video-ati-legacy ?
