Hi!
There is definitely a regression with xf86-video-ati when using the legacy drm
driver from base.  We're currently investigating this and will try to find a
way to solve it.  If you are on amd64 you can try to use graphics/drm-kmod
(this will install either drm-stable-kmod or drm-next-kmod depending on your
FreeBSD version), or install either of drm-stable or drm-next directly.

If you are on 12 you can also try drm-devel-kmod.

With regards to 10.x support, that branch is end of life at October 31, so I
suggest you try to update to either 11.2 or the upcoming 12.0.

The legacy drm (drm1 and drm2) modules are still in base, the decision to
remove them was reverted.  They are also available as a port,
graphics/drm-legacy-kmod, which works on a very recent 12.
