Very strange...

Could you:
1. Place debug.psm.loglevel=5 in to /boot/loader.conf and post here a part of
boot log from "synaptics: BEGIN init" to "synaptics: END init"
2. Install devel/evemu and run evemu-describe or evemu-record on your touchpad
/dev/input/eventN device node
