Follow up: Nothing I found on the 'net worked with respect to ssh_config nor sshd_config. I did notice I could not "ssh -Y localhost" - same error about wrong authentitation. Turned off ipv6 in /etc/rc.conf - everything just worked at that point. Both "ssh -Y localhost" and "ssh -Y freebsd-11" from Fedora 25 worked.
