Have you tried native joystick support in games/flighgear rather than emulating
keyboard+mouse via xf86-input-joystick, joytran, antimicro, etc.? See
/usr/local/share/flightgear/Input/Joysticks/ThrustMaster/

In kernel since base r305706 but uhid(4) still lacks support for it; in
userspace via multimedia/webcamd but generic USB HID driver hasn't been ported.
