Nvidia drivers screen brightness and back light

I turned off redshift but xbrightness isn't needed; xrandr --output DEVICE
--brightness [0.0-1.0] works just as well without needing to install
additional software.
I wonder will this affect the ability to put this device to sleep in a
power saving mode like suspend, hibernate, etc..
