Keith I did not see the devd.conf. I can not see a way to do it using that but
in googling to find your suggestion I found:
xinput set-prop 8 "Device Enabled" 0
Well not exactly but it showed the proper syntax and this works. Thank without
pointing me to something I did not know I would have never found it.
