Starting X11 with empty config does not load the "nv" driver at all. The reason
is a missing symbol:
(EE) Failed to load /usr/local/lib/xorg/modules/drivers/nv_drv.so:
/usr/local/lib/xorg/modules/drivers/nv_drv.so: Undefined symbol "miEmptyData"

Workaround: Use the "vesa" driver.
Unfortunately this driver does not support the wide screen resolutions needed.
