/dev/xconsole: couldn't open console

Hi X11@,

first of all, thanks for all the work you are doing, keeping X11 and
accompanying programs up to date.

I'd like to draw your attention to this PR:

It seems like this is still an issue on 10-BETA3, with the result that
x11/xconsole does not work. The problem has been discussed here (and in
the provided links in the PR as well), but apparently there is no solution
yet:

Can you start investigating this, perhaps with the help of some kernel
developers? I would really like to have an xconsole display all my
messages.
