I have tested running this patch and it seems to work fine here

Some info:

FreeBSD marvin.madpilot.net 10.0-CURRENT FreeBSD 10.0-CURRENT #5 r239127

drm0: <ATI Radeon HD 4350> on vgapci0

I know this is not the same hardware as the original request but on this 
one at least there is no regression.
