I've reverted to the older version of the port:
# pkg_info | fgrep xf86-video-vmware
xf86-video-vmware-11.0.3_1 X.Org vmware display driver
# pkg_delete xf86-video-vmware-11.0.3_1
# pkg_add xf86-video-vmware-11.0.1.tbz
pkg_add: warning: package 'xf86-video-vmware-11.0.1' requires 'xorg-server-1.7.5,1', but 'xorg-server-1.7.7_1,1' is installed
#
and now the Display size (from xorg.conf) and DPI value are correct:
$ xdpyinfo | fgrep -3 reso
screen #0:
print screen: no
dimensions: 1920x1200 pixels (333x209 millimeters)
resolution: 146x146 dots per inch
depths (7): 24, 1, 4, 8, 15, 16, 32
root window id: 0x102
depth of root window: 24 planes
and also the problem of bug-report ports/156368 is solved by this;
HIH
