(Not so) funny problems with xorg-7.4 autodetection

Hello,

Just a quick question: Are you using the latest version of libpciaccess?
Without it, I also had the "X does not switch to video mode, just hangs
there with no response to mouse/keyboard except for power button"
symptom, but that fixed it. 

It is easy to loose track of changes among the upgrade orgy that the new
Xorg brings...
