Compiz Fusion brings all Gnome with itself

Did you try running 'make config' in /usr/ports/x11-wm/compiz-fusion to
disable the gconf backend?  And run 'make config'
in /usr/ports/x11-wm/compiz to disable Gnome and Metacity support?
