I missed this thread--does it have to do with errors installing either
xkeyboard-config or xorg-server?  If so, SirDice and I have found that
creating a /var/lib/xkb directory can help--the other thing that can
help is, prior to the upgrading, deleting or moving
/usr/X11R6/share/X11/xkb before the build.  

If this answer is totally irrelevant to the question, I apologize, but
I'm too lazy to go to the web and look up the thread.
