help with experimental ports tree

I have installed x.org from the experimental ports tree, and I get this 
error when trying to run anything using GL.

# ./glmatrix
Fatal error 'Recurse on a private mutex.' at line 986 in file 
/usr/src/lib/libpthread/thread/thr_mutex.c (errno = 0)
Abort (core dumped)

I have found a couple other references to this, but I was confused on the 
solution (If there is one).  I am using the 1.0-8776 nvidia driver.
