Xorg do not find /dev/io

Hi

On freeBsd 5.3

When I start the Xorg server I get this fatal error message

xf86EnableIO: Failed to open /dev/io for extended I/O

the /dev/io exists and in the kernel configuration file
device io 
is set. (I’ve compiled and installed a new kernel)

Yesterday Xorg started correctly.

Ps. I’m new with FreeBsd

Somebody known the possible problem?
