Use the drivers matrox provide for linux:
[http://www.matrox.com/mga/support/drivers/files/lnx_41.cfm]
Place mga_drv.o and mga_hal.drv.o into
/usr/X11R6/lib/modules/drivers/. Make sure you back up Xorg's mga
drivers first though !
