Hi,
I bought another one which was selled by Am* as:
"W-LAN 300 MBit USB 2.0 Adapter wifi Realtek Chipsatz RTL8191SU"
it arrived today and on plug-in it attaches the rsu(4) driver as:
Dec 1 08:59:38 unixarea kernel: ugen4.4: <vendor 0x0bda> at usbus4
Dec 1 08:59:38 unixarea kernel: rsu0: <vendor 0x0bda product 0x8172, class 0/0, rev 2.00/2.00, addr 4> on usbus4
Dec 1 08:59:38 unixarea kernel: rsu0: MAC/BB RTL8712 cut 3
Dec 1 08:59:39 unixarea kernel: wlan0: Ethernet address: 00:0d:09:a1:2e:16
and 'usbconfig dump_device_desc' says:
ugen4.4: <product 0x8172 vendor 0x0bda> at usbus4, cfg=0 md=HOST spd=HIGH (480Mbps) pwr=ON (500mA)
bLength = 0x0012
bDescriptorType = 0x0001
bcdUSB = 0x0200
bDeviceClass = 0x0000
bDeviceSubClass = 0x0000
bDeviceProtocol = 0x0000
bMaxPacketSize0 = 0x0040
idVendor = 0x0bda
idProduct = 0x8172
bcdDevice = 0x0200
iManufacturer = 0x0001 <Manufacturer Realtek >
iProduct = 0x0002 <RTL8191S WLAN Adapter >
iSerialNumber = 0x0003 <00e04c000001>
bNumConfigurations = 0x0001
Is there any diff between 'RTL8191S' and 'RTL8191SU'?
Why the rsu(4) says: rsu0: MAC/BB RTL8712 cut 3?
Thanks
matthias
