Atheros ANI and other WLAN signals as interference

For the Atheros ANI, are the WLAN signals for other APs (with
different SSID) considered as false detection?

(I think it does not. Then how to test the ANI operation given that I
only have a machine that generates arbitrary WLAN signals?)
