[CFT]: filtered frames support

[Adrian Chadd]

I've found/fixed the BAR and filtered frame issues that crept up; as
well as some other filtered frames related hangs.

I committed the mess to -HEAD.

Please update, test and let me know if things hang in weird and strange ways.
