The baseband occasionally needs poking. don't worry, the workarounds
are in the driver. ;)

Well, the AR9287 is a newer chip and it supports a few new things -
most importantly, short-GI in HT20 mode.
But honestly, the AR9280 is a nice NIC if you need a PCIe NIC. If you
can find a dual-band AR9220 NIC (ie, not an AR9223) then it's a good
PCI NIC.
