Using 12.1-P8 in August of 2020, this is still happening.

cbsd, and possibly other ports, rely on /sbin/kldstat -qm vmm to return an exit
status of 0. kldstat -m does not recognize vmm. 

If this is the intended behavior of kldstat with the vmm.ko module, then please
add the appropriate comments and close this report.
