Could you please run this command after attaching the device and before running
the gpart command?
# camcontrol debug -c -p -I -P 3:0:0
Where 3:0:0 is taken from bus, target, lun reported by camcontrol devlist.

I hope that this will enable debugging messages that will tell us more about
what is going on.
