To submitter: Do you know if this was ever resolved?  If not, I'm
afraid there isn't enough information within this PR to start to
figure out what the problem is.  Could you please provide the
output of "dmesg" and either "usbdevs -v" (on 6/7) or
"usbconfig list" (under 8).  Thanks!
