One thing I just noticed..
I had devd rules to change the perms on /dev/ugen* when it saw the UPS but it
seems that ugen re-creates the device nodes with their default permissions.
This hid a separate problem - when I adjust the devfs rules to change the
perms newhisups hangs on startup, eg..
...
Looking up DelayBeforeStartup
usb_control_msg: 161 1 829 0 0x514f34 8 4000
Report : (8 bytes) => 3D FF FF FF 1A 00 00 00
dstate_init: sock /var/db/nut/newhidups-auto open on fd 5
upsdrv_updateinfo...
Waiting for notifications...
load: 0.29 cmd: newhidups 57246 [ugenri] 0.01u 0.01s 0% 1180k
^CUSB error: error reading from interrupt endpoint /dev/ugen0.1: Interrupted system call
new connection on fd 7
Signal 2: exiting
Closing device
It doesn't hang their if it can't access /dev/ugen0.1 and manages to work
fairly well except that I can't update any of the UPS settings.
I get this problem on my -current laptop too.. Anyone have any ideas?
