Need help quirking my HDD

Hi Everyone,
 I'm having problems getting this most out of my USB 2.0 HDD. This is my dmesg:

 As you can see 1MB/s for a USB2 device is quite sad, and I'm not
really sure where to start to fix it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
