Mouse does not work with new Xorg, works with old Xorg (9.3-STABLE)

I tried this on the desktop which was perviously working
without it set, just for curiosity. The effect there is that I
can run X once, but if I run it again it has no mouse. On that
machine I do need to have moused running.

All a bit odd - am sorry that none of the solutions work
for you though.
