make delete-old oddity on stable/10

I hope that not only the delete-old oddity fix, but $SRCDIR/sys/dev/re will be included in update after testing.

$SRCDIR/sys/dev/re update could go to releng-9 as well.

While I wait for 10-stable update, I can update HEAD and see if that works.
