Laggy X11 after updating to 8.0-RC1

I changed /boot/loader.conf from:

hw.psm.synaptics_support=1

to

hw.psm.synaptics_support=0

and rebooted.  All X11 input buffer lag went away for me.

Wild.  Unfortunately the touchpad is now more prone to palm taps...
