Yes there is, and you'll be happy to know I just got done smooting
my X install out - just in time to try using the latest driver
from the nVidia site (but that's a story for another time).

To the point; to best serve you, one will need to see the output from
/var/log/Xorg.0.log, and a copy of your xorg.conf file. Without this
information /nobody/ can posibly know where you/it went wrong. You
would do well to search the posts I made yesterday in a thread. Search
for mtrr: invalid argument. I posted all the info you already should have. ;)
But you'll see a good example to get some ideas for your own.
