Nope, I haven't touched anything like that. In fact this is a fairly 
clean install of FreeBSD. I haven't messed a lot around with anything. 
In /etc/defaults/rc.conf they're:

performance_cx_lowest="HIGH"    # Online CPU idle state
economy_cx_lowest="HIGH"        # Offline CPU idle state
