It seems that the problem is only with PLEXTOR PX-716AL (you are using 
PX-716A)
I tried on few different servers and I always got this :
umass0: Unsupported ATAPI command 0x46
when I try to do something with the burner.

I'll play little more connection on IDE slot, but last time when I tried 
I got the same errors with atapicam.
