I get the same hang here on an NFS server. It's usually at night (when
the machine is not heavily loaded). Every 6-7 days. I looked around if I
could find a cron job that is running on the server or one of it's
clients at the time, but nothing special. The backup (dump to a file on
an NFS mount) is usually ready 5-20 minutes before. The same backup runs
another day but it always happens either the night from Sat to Sun or
the night from Sun to Mon.

My hardware looks quite different from yours. I have a UP system,
different network, different Chipset, different processor, different
SCSI controller.
