will try

Also, I can't seem to be able to bring up the network interface
in single user mode. Is it supported?
If I do "ifconfig bge0 up", bge0 shows as UP, but ip address is not assigned.
Probably means /etc/rc.conf is not read?

Finally, should I try 7.2 as well/instead?

many thanks
