Do you by chance have both ofw_console(4) and uart(4) enabled in
the same kernel? This will cause havoc. If not the performance of
ofw_console(4) might improve if you use the OFWCONS_POLL_HZ
option in your kernel config file and set it to e.g. 20 or 25.
