Company is the world's leading international appliance company.
Electrical Component Engineer
Primary responsibility is to evaluate and approve components for use in
motor operated household appliances. These devices include supply cords,
internal wiring, electrical connectors, circuit boards, etc. Secondary
duties include assistance to the lab facilities for the development and
maintenance of test fixtures and lab equipment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Evaluate electrical components for use in motor operated household
appliances
Prepare specifications for electrical components
Specify electrical components early in the development process of new
appliances
Actively participate in development meetings of new products
Provide support to manufacturing facilities
Participate in cost reduction programs
Specify testing needed to approve electrical components
Ensure electrical components comply with applicable safety requirements
Assist lab personnel with the development/building of new test fixtures
Research and recommend lab equipment
Experience Requirements:
BSEE, experience with specification of electro-mechanical devices
Must be able to evaluate components used in 120/240V household appliances
Ability to perform component evaluation consist of safety and durability
Ability to recommend components while appliance is still in development
stage
Ability to analyze root cause of component failures seen in lab/field
testing of appliances
