A couple of questions about SSDs

It depends on the amount of swapping vs. the device’s endurance obviously.

You should see what it does to performance AND monitor the wear through the smartctl tool or equivalent and decide for yourself.

(For Windows (and DragonFlyBSD ?) there’s the ReadyBoost feature that could work if you have a load of memory sticks kicking
 about.)
