That's pretty close, but I would start by checking what php packages you
actually have installed:

$ pkg info -g \*php\*

Many web applications such as phpMyAdmin and roundcube have PHP
version-specific packages.


$ pkg delete -g php\* 
; maybe delete roundcube-php72 mod_php72 etc.

$ pkg install php74 php74-extensions
; maybe install roundcube-php74 mod_php74 etc.

If you're using mod_php restart your web server.

I agree that the differences between 7.2 and 7.4 are small.
