It may be (depending on your definition of better), but it's not an
alternative to mail/spamd. rspamd and SpamAssassin are content filters,
they run after the MTA has received the email's content. 


The daemon provided by mail/spamd can tarpit or greylist connections
before any connection is made to the MTA.
