Yes, because altered files usually get overwritten with the
newer version without prompting, if I remember correctly. So
you'd have to run a "post-upgrade" script which adds back
your changes - I had to do this with the lp* tools and the
umount binary on FreeBSD 10 because of Gnome... ;-)
