Hi Jochen,

I don't use skype myself, so I would not be able to tell you whether 
skype now works on FreeBSD. But skype is a Microsoft application, not 
likely to do so well in coming times. There are excellent native 
alternatives that you should keep in mind : pidgin (text chat) and jitsi 
(video chat).
