reported timestamps during boot process?

Hi —

I am encountering unusually high boot times after migration to new hardware hosted remotely (and thus without physical access to the console).

Is there a way to investigate the boot process by means of reported timestamps in some logfile? dmesg doesn't seem to be the tool of choice.

Any hints are highly welcome and regards,
