i have natd successfully being a router for my home net using 10.2-R
and found an interesting
issue.

at one time i was struggling with being only able to ping thru the
system but could not get any other protocols to work such as http, ftp,
pop, etc. i was using the onboard nfe0 device and a d-link DUB-E100 USB
lan adapter.

i installed a mini pcie card instead of the D-Link DUB-E100 adapter
and everything worked fine.

tonight i tried to run the D-link DUB-E100 again only to face the same
issue as before no http, ftp, pop etch but pings worked. this device is
registered as ue0.

i ordered a new USB device and it came,
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003VSTDFG?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00

i unplugged the dlink adapter plugged in the "plugable 10/100/100"
device and everything works as far as
natd goes, i didnt even have to edit rc.conf or rc.firewall cause the
devices are both listed as "ue0".

the hardware is an Acer Aspire Revo 3700 with 10.2-r AMD64 on it and an
Atom 1600Mhz cpu 2gb ram.

the dlink DUB-E100 has hardware version D1 and is listed in the
supported hardware list.
