How do I tell if tor is working ....

.... when I am using firefox (firefox-33.0,1), supposedly configured to 
use it (SOCKS IP (127.0.0.1) & port # (9050) set) ? Tor logfile shows 
nothing new when I started FF. TIA for any clues ....
