Dependency on gettext

Colleagues, 

Could you please comment on this:

[fido at news ~] pkg upgrade -n
Upgrades have been requested for the following 1 packages:

        Installing gettext: 0.18.3.1_1 [sibptus]

The upgrade will require 9 MB more space

2 MB to be downloaded

Why has gettext become required all of a sudden? It has not been
required before, and no other package seems to have changed. Whence
this dependency?

"pkg check -dn" show nothing.
