Future of pf / firewall in FreeBSD ? - does it have one ?

How do we fix this? Can the FreeBSD Foundation step in and provide funding? Our most popular firewall doesn't play well with IPv6 in a time when everyone is pushing IPv6. This is not exactly a good situation to be in.
