cross-building ARM world on amd64

Oddly, crochet (http://github.com/kientzle/crochet-freebsd) succeeds in building the ARM world, (in the process of creating a RPi image)

It appears to be doing:
> make TARGET_ARCH=arm SRCCONF=/dev/null __MAKE_CONF=/dev/null -j 3 buildworld
(which fails when I try it manually, FWIW)
The (successful) build log is huge, therefore uploaded at http://penenen.de/buildworld.crochet.log.bz2

I'll try working out the difference (and getting crochet to dump the environment)
