Without particular testing, I'd say this is possible. All you
need is the basic /usr/src tree (top level files and maybe
others) which are in sync with what you use to build on a
different machine. Then you need access to the build results
located in /usr/obj (or where you direct the output at), and
then perform the installation steps. Another idea would be
to generate "delta packages" comparable to the distributions
usually found on the installation media, and then simply
extract them to the correct locations on the local machine.
Maybe this can even be integrated with freebsd-update (but
of course with your own source).
