Decent means so many differen things, to so many people. 

I've got a core2duo running with zfs raidz over geli, and (iirc) it does in the ballpark of around 100MB/sec or so (sequential).  For my typical workloads I'm fairly sure seek time of the spinning rust is more of an issue than geli.
